  1. Measure the duct opening

    Remove the old cover and measure the inside edges in both directions. A 4 × 10-inch opening calls for the 4x10 size—not a cover selected by its outside dimensions.

  2. Check the surrounding space

    Allow for the outer frame and any nearby wall, trim or cabinetry. Check the product’s overall and insert dimensions before ordering or cutting your flooring.

  3. Choose your frame finish

    Select Black or White, then review the product details for your size. The flooring insert creates the match; the frame finish completes the border.

How do I choose the right floor vent cover size?

Measure the duct opening from inside edge to inside edge in both directions. Product sizes refer to that opening, not the outside face of your old cover. For example, a 4 × 10-inch duct opening uses a nominal 4x10 register. Check the frame clearance and installation details as well.

How does a floor-matching register work?

A piece of your flooring sits in the center insert tray, allowing the register to carry the surrounding floor’s color and texture. The cover itself is made of heavy-duty metal. Match both the duct-opening size and the insert dimensions when planning the installation.

Are these tileable floor vent covers?

Yes. The tray can hold a matching tile insert. It also accepts flooring inserts in wood, vinyl, laminate or carpet, so the same floor-matching design works with more than a tiled floor.

Can I use a flooring insert made from carpet?

Yes. Carpet is one of the supported flooring-insert options, along with tile, wood, vinyl and laminate. Check the insert dimensions and installation details for the register size you choose.
